I I’m fragmented, just like my ideas and sentences. But I have to back in time to retell my story or several versions of one. Why my hats are made from fur? You have to go far far back if you want to see just a glimpse of my wild past. I was the kid who pretended to be a wild king in the kingdom where all the wild things are. My name is Spike, jut like Jonze’s who directs and writes the weirdest stories. I myself am a weirdo. If you are looking for Valdo, you’re looking the wrong way.
Start from the begging, or from the day when first fur hats were made. I was always a primal kid from uncivilized and migrating community. It was the time when the concept of family didn’t exist. I never knew how to call those people who brought me to this world. As a wild kid with a future of a wild king a head of me, I wondered around and tried to put some pieces back together. I wanted to create the world and my story from scratch. It wasn’t that easy, because whenever I wanted to immortalize my memories on sand the wind grew stronger. My words and ideas can’t have any other form or expression. I live in a silent and sole community. I only stay alive because of real fur.
The days of fur hats never left us. Not even after thousand of years of solitude- for all seasons and for any situation. I grew older and stronger. Soon I shall become the king of the kingdom where the wild things are. But how do we distinct what is wild from…what’s the opposite word for wild? Well as a future king I will be crowed with fur, because this is an era of natural fabrics. We are a fur community, a community of hunters. Generation after generation and king after king, we follow those strict rules of fur manufacturing and the rules of wearing furry and fuzzy hats.
I was crowned with fur hats several times. The first time I was only 7 year old and letter once every seven years someone gave me a new title and a new hat. However, till the end of my days I stayed true to one title only. I was, I am and will be the true king of the kingdom where the wild things are. The crowning ceremony repeated once every seven years was different, but I was still the same, sole and humble.
Today I live in a new world. I am surrounded by modernized world. Fur hats that I’ve been wearing as a crown are worn out now. A new society might crown me, but I’m too old for such duty. I’m not longer the part of the kingdom where the wild things are, because there are no kingdoms left in a modern society, just some dust and memories of it.
